Honolulu International Airport (HNL) is one of the world’s largest, busiest and most beautiful airports. Owned and operated by the State of Hawaii Dept of Transportation, it covers 4,520 acres of land, and is larger than the major resort destination of Waikiki.
The airport is served by 27 international and domestic carriers, 3 interisland airlines, 4 commuter airlines and plays host to more than 20 million visitors each year. At any given daytime or evening hour, an estimated 10,000 people are in the airport complex as passengers, employees or visitors. [hawaii.gov/hia]
